This statement is made pursuant to s.54 of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and sets out the steps that Upex has taken and is continuing to take to ensure that modern slavery or human trafficking is not taking place within business or supply chain.
The Upex Group is an industry leading Staffing Supplier, who work alongside a multitude of businesses across the length and breadth of the UK.
Upex operate stringent policies to ensure that business is conducted in an ethical and transparent manner which include, but are not limited to some of the below practises
Identification and recruitment policy - We operate a robust recruitment policy, including conducting eligibility to work in the UK checks for all employees and contractors to safeguard against human trafficking or individuals being forced to work against their will.
Training;
Upex conduct regular training for its consultants to ensure a firm understanding of the signs of modern slavery is held, alongside the standard procedures to follow should they suspect that it is taking place within our supply chain.
To that end, we confirm that we have examined our own business and businesses within our supply chain and confirm the following:
We confirm that within our own business, no relevant offence relating to slavery or human tracking has been committed. We have made enquiries of businesses that supply directly to us and we are confident that no relevant offence is committed in that business. Insofar as it was reasonably practicable, we have examined our supply chains and can confirm that we found no evidence of slavery or human trafficking.
